San Pablo is a small West County city whose biggest employers are a college, a casino and a cluster of health and care centers.
The city’s 2022-23 financial report lists Contra Costa College as its largest employer, with 743 people counting part-timers, ahead of Casino San Pablo at 421 and the West Contra Costa Unified School District at 305. The college, on Mission Bell Drive, is part of the Contra Costa Community College District, which posts its staff and teaching jobs on EDJOIN and its own careers site.
Healthcare makes up much of the rest of the list: Brookside San Pablo Health Center and the county’s West County Health Center, plus three care centers (Vale Health Care Center, San Pablo Health Care and Wellness Center, and Creekside Health Care Center). That makes San Pablo a good place to look for medical assistant, nursing assistant, front desk and care work. Las Montana’s Supermarket and the City of San Pablo round out the top ten.
