If you sign up for job alerts or newsletters, every message we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Transactional messages — replies to your enquiry, confirmations for a job you posted — are sent regardless of marketing preferences, because they are part of the service you asked for.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it outside ContraCostaJobs only when:

A service provider processes it on our instructions, under contract, in order to run our services — for example our website host, our customer relationship system, and our email delivery provider

Anything you choose to include in a public job posting is, by design, visible to anyone who visits the site.

When you apply for a job, your application and résumé are shared with that employer so they can respond to you. If you publish a résumé to the résumé area, employers using this site can view it; you can unpublish or delete it at any time from your account.

Your information is stored on servers operated by our hosting and infrastructure providers in the United States. We use technical and organizational measures to protect it, but no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. How long we keep it

You can delete your résumé, your saved job alerts or your account at any time, and we will remove them. Otherwise we keep your information for as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business need — to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymize it.

8. How we protect your personal information

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from misuse and from unauthorized or unlawful access, alteration, loss or destruction. These include access controls on our systems, encryption in transit, and limiting access to staff who need it.

9. Cookies and analytics

This site sets cookies that are needed to run it — to keep you signed in, to remember what is in your cart, and to keep forms secure.

We also use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how the site is used. It does not record what you type into a form’s fields.

We have switched off Google Signals and ads personalisation, so none of this is used to build an advertising profile of you and none of it is shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use it to understand how people find and use the site, and for nothing else.

You can opt out for every website you visit with Google’s own browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Blocking it does not change anything about how this site works for you.

The site may link to third-party websites and services, including social media. We are not responsible for the content, security or practices of those third parties, and information you give them is not covered by this policy.

ContraCostaJobs is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under the age of eighteen (18).
